New Zealand Christmas tree

Image from bushmansfriend

Those who live in the Southern Hemisphere, say Australia or New Zealand, are experiencing high summer now. For them, this is what the term Christmas tree means. For you scientific types, the botanical alias is Metrosederos excelsa Pohutukawa.

Happy Christmas to all those Down Under, below the equator, and to all of us in the Northern Latitudes too.
