Drivers leaving the town of Radium Hot Springs by Highway 93 must head through Sinclair Canyon right after passing the entrance to Kootenay National Park.
The canyon is so steep and driver visibility so limited that a large mirror has been mounted to make it easier to see what's coming around the blind bend of the highway.
Near this spectacular place and visible from the road, the hot springs provide open air hot and cool pools open to bathers winter and summer. I swam in lilac season, and I could smell the flowers each time I came up for air.
Right at the hot springs, Pleiades Spa offers a wide range of treatments. Those who get massages or other forms of pampering can also use the swimming pools.
