Daffodils, finally

We've had the rainiest March since 1937, giving new meaning to our epithet, the Wet Coast. It's been so cold that spring flowers are much later than usual. Today brought some hours of welcome sunshine. The past week has finally seen a few magnolias open, and an occasional cherry tree in bloom. Finally it's spring! We're lucky. In Quebec City last week, water was running waist deep in the lower town. A recent windstorm in Newfoundland blew roofs off buildings. And my heart goes out to the people of Peru and Colombia, devastated by flooding.
